LiFE
provides a complete curriculum for preschool through grade 6. Goals
of the entire program are:
To nurture the faith of children and leaders and to encourage a deeper
understanding of biblical/doctrinal truths.
To
help children and leaders develop a spiritual dependence on and trust
in God.
To
encourage children and leaders to make the church's confessions and
teachings their own.
To
develop skills and attitudes that are crucial to spiritual lifeunderstanding
and responding creatively to Scripture, worshiping and praying together,
talking about one's faith, cultivating a sense of wonder and praise,
and sharing in the ministry of the church.
To
encourage a living faith that's evidenced in daily attitudes and actions. |

Goals
for Preschool & Kindergarten
To
feel wonder and love for the One who loves us and cares for us.
To
feel we belong to God (Jesus) and are secure in God's love and care.
To
respond to God (Jesus) with attitudes and actions of love, trust,
thankfulness, wonder, obedience, and praise.

Goals
for Grades 1&2
To
come to know and delight in stories about Jesus and about God's Old
Testament people.
To
develop a deeper understanding of who Jesus is and how much he loves
us.
To
respond to God (Jesus) with attitudes and actions of love, wonder,
trust, obedience, praise, and service.

Goals
for Grades 3&4
To
grow in love for God, our Creator and Father; Jesus, our Savior; and
the Holy Spirit, our Source of new life.
To
grow in Bible-reading skills and to learn to reflect on Scripture;
to begin to understand and appreciate the unity and sequence of the
biblical narrative; to identify with characters in parables and other
stories; and to retell, depict, or dramatize the stories.
To
respond to God through prayer, worship, celebration, wonder, witness,
service, and creative activities.

Goals
for Grades 5&6
To
grow in Bible-reading skills and understanding, relating biblical
narratives to key teaching of the Reformed faith.
To
confess in our own words the basic truths of the Reformed faith.
To
experience the joy and security of belonging to Jesus and to his people,
the church.
To
respond to God in prayer, worship, wonder, witness, and service. |
